Of course I would like to make it as easy as possible on the people that I've asked for letters of recommendation, so how do you suggest I ask them to address it? "To whom it may concern," "Dear (insert name of Program Director)," etc? It would be easiest to make it "To whom it may concern," and just make copies, but from reading other posts on this site, it seems as though that is to generic. What I did not see on the other posts was how exactly they should be addressed. Do you use the schools program director's name, or what? I'm only applying to 3 schools, so it should not be to much of a problem to get the people writing letters to change just a name. Also did you have them do a formal business letter format, with their name and address at the top, and the name and address of the person to whom the letter is written. What is the usual protocol for this? Thank for any suggestions guys!
