Hello, I will be finished with Nursing school with a BSN soon and naturally am looking to get my first job in the ICU. Honestly my interests lie in cardiac surgery ICU or Coronary ICU but I am not that picky. I come to this community because it is the largest assembled group of current and past ICU nurses i can think of and I feel you know best. I would like some advice on how to score that first job as a new grad. My grades are good, I have two years of experience in a high volume ER, and I am dedicated. Please if any one can offer advice on what a ICU nurse manager wants to hear from a new grad so i can get a job. I just need to convince them to give me a chance. Yes, CRNA is a ultimate goal but I want to be an ICU nurse first to build my skills. Thanks in advance.
