I am asking this for a friend who received this question in an interview last year. Need some advice on an ethical situation that was addressed in an interview. Here's the scenario: you and another CRNA are equal partners, and the only 2 CRNA's in your practice in a small town hospital. You suspect that your partner is stealing and using drugs. What do you do?

Of course if there is patient safety at risk, you do whatever you have to do to keep the patient safe. Otherwise:

Go to your superior - no, you have no superior, you are equal partners.

Ask him/her to submit to drug testing - they refuse.

Where do you go with this? Report it to the board and let them do their own investigation?
