Hello all, I am new to the forum. I have a bit of a dilemma, and am hoping that some of you may be able to shed a little light on the topic. I am an emergency room nurse at a level 1 trauma center. I have a certificate in TNCC, and I am also a MICN. My GPA is 3.5 and I have taken advanced pharmacology. I also recently took the CCRN (as this is a requirement at most schools) and passed it without difficulty. I have also shadowed a CRNA (for many days while volunteering at a local hospital) and plan on taking the GRE within the next month. My dilemma is this...I would like to send out applications during the summer before the fall deadlines in most schools. Because my experience is in the emergency room, would it be beneficial to delay an application to take the CEN? Would it make me a better applicant, or does the CCRN have enough value to make me competitive in the schools that accept ER experience?
Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
