I am collector of old anesthesia books and I have found that reading them has helped me to develop a more thorough understanding of modern agents and techniques. The old textbooks do not imply any previous understanding of a subject which helps to explain difficult concepts.

You can purchase old anesthesia texts cheap (like 5 bucks or so) on some websites or in a used book store..... and they look REALLY cool in your library.
