I'm only in my second year pursuing my BSN, but I've wanted to be a nurse anesthetist since my junior year of high school. I don't want to come off sounding naive because I know I have a lot to learn, and I feel I could gain some valuable knowledge through these forums. I also understand the extreme competition in this field, and therefore, I want to make myself a competitive candidate. So far I've managed an A in anatomy, physiology, general and organic chemistry, as well as everything else except history...lame. As I continue in my undergrad studies, what can I do outside of school to increase my chances? For example, working in a hospital and if so what types of jobs? I've also read about shadowing a CRNA, i'm assuming it's probably to early for me to do this, but how might I go about this in the future? Whatever experience or advice you have to offer will be eagerly taken, thanks :-)
