Hello all,

Long time lurker, first time poster. Have a question for ya. I am currently a paramedic who is doing a bridge program into nursing. The state of Georgia decided this week to no longer grant reciprocity to students from the Excelsior Nursing bridge program (Only state to do this besides California). This essentially slams the door shut on me being able to get a license in my own state.

My question is whether the CRNA is treated as a seperate license, or is it based on your original RN. In other words, if I get my RN license in TN and actually made it into CRNA school, would I be able to practice in the state of Georgia? Or is everything based on your initial RN license?

Thanks for the help guys. I am trying to figure out if I need cut my losses, quit my job, and start over at a different school. I appreciate the feedback.

Lastly, I would like to thank the founder and all the contributors to this website. What a fantastic resource it has been!
