I have done this procedure roughly 175 times. Cannulating the tail vein and right carotid artery takes about 25 minutes once you get really good at it.

I thought I would make a quick video to show y'all what I have been doing for the last couple of years. I am finishing up my surgeries this week (FINALLY) and then data collection picks back up (this time in full gear).

EDIT:
Once the tail and carotid are cannulated, the procedure takes another two hours. So imagine 175 x roughly 2.5 hours per animal (just for surgery), then another 5 hours per animal for tissue prep and test.....
