http://www.anesthesiaabstracts.com
This website is an amazing resource for research in anesthesia.
There official mission is as follows:

The abstract journal by CRNAs for CRNAs! It is our goal to provide you with up-to-date information you can use in your daily practice of anesthesia, and to do so as economically as possible.
Each month Anesthesia Abstracts provides a cross section of information relevant to clinical anesthesia practice selected from a wide range of biomedical journals. Each abstract is followed by commentary, analysis, and recommendations by nationally known CRNAs. The number of abstracts and comments written by these contributing editors will continue to increase as the months pass.
I have spent a few hours going over all the issues from last year to this year and I honestly cannot explain how impressed I am with this service.
Essentially, Anesthesia Abstracts takes selected articles which are relevant to practice, dissects it and then boils it down to clinical relevance. At the end of each article there is a commentary by a CRNA with significant experience in the clinical and research arena. On top of all that they offer CEs as well!
What is really impressive is the cost to students. 29$ a year for SRNAs in a program. This is a big benefit to SRNAs since generally, there is little time to read research and even less to spent boiling it down to clinical relevance.
Anesthesia Abstracts offers a number of ways to view the content.
1) Emailed PDFs as each edition comes out
2) Emailed notification that a new edition is avaliable
3) View directly online including all back issues.
Services like this also offer those less familiar with research or intimidated by reading whole studies a perfect opportunity to keep up with whats going on. Completely managed, run and written by CRNAs this is the sortof thing our profession needs!
The editors are:
Michael A. Fiedler, PhD, CRNA
Dr. Fiedler has served as a nurse anesthesia faculty member at three universities. He provides clinical anesthesia services for Anesthesia Resources Management in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2006 he founded Lifelong Learning, LLC, a professional education company and publisher of Anesthesia Abstracts.
Mary Golinski, PhD, CRNA
Dr. Golinski is an Assistant Professor at Wayne State University, Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the Chief CRNA at Beaumont Hospital, Grosse Pointe, Michigan. She has served (2004-2006) as Director of Region 3 for the AANA as well as Treasurer for the AANA (2006-2007).
This is YOUR chance to promote evidence based practice and a CRNA run and presented product!
