Hi! I am about to start school in August and currently work in a ICU and have repeatedly been told by my peers whom I work with that too many applicants are entering this field and by the time that I would graduate, it would be very difficult to find a job. I have spoken w/ a number of CRNAs that I work with, and they have suggested that after I pass the boards, that I should seek employment with a private surgical group vs hospital setting. Because so many RNs are entering this field, would that in turn drive down the salary/opportunity to gain employment? Does anyone have any advice regarding this issue? Salary is not the sole impetus for entering school.... Autonomy is at the top of my list.

Thanks,
