Hey all, long time lurker here. Love the forum and the wealth of information made available for aspiring CRNAs like myself! Anyways, I was wondering if anyone could explain to me what exactly your credentials are upon graduation and passing boards. When you are “certified” to practice anesthesia, do you receive an ARNP license as well? Or do you need to enroll in a separate ARNP program altogether in order to have that designation? I am curious because there are a few hospitals around my way (namely Virginia Mason and Harborview Medical Center) whose CRNA job applications requires both an ARNP license and national NA certification. It doesn’t make sense to me to have to go to both CRNA and ARNP school, but I haven’t been able to find information anywhere (i.e. AANA or this forum) that can dispel the notion. Any and all feedback are most welcomed and would be appreciated. Thanks!
