Just in the process of getting some ICU experince now and maybe will never go further than that but it's still good to remember! Actually, I seem to have a bad habit opf not looking at the monitor enough... that's the "high acuity home care nurse" in me, I guess.

Is there a similar set of rules for family members? There are those that seem to come to the ICU to visit the monitors, not their loved one. They stand in the corner and stare at the monitor and try to interperet it's every blip, no matter how I point out Mom's condition or her need to be touched and talked to.
