Ok folks, i've been searching for the last 2 hours various books and internet searches.

i'm in clinicals right now logging in from the office. LOL

question is:

If the patient were to have an interscalene block for shoulder arthroplasty and he had hx of bilateral carotid endarterectomy, what is the potential complication and why?

I have hints....the arrythmia involves prolonged QT interval and it has to do with the vagus nerve. i was able to gather that there is a branch of the vagus that is cut during endarterectomy?

doc wants to know why and would it still be safe to do the ISB (interscalene block)
