56 year old male, otherwise very healthy, all labs WNL, presents for right tarsal tunnel release with limb lengthening, Achilles lengthening. I ask the causative factor and he told me he had polio as a child. He has some residual muscle weakness on the right lower limb.

What kind of considerations do we look for? Is there anything special you might do for this patient?

His procedure went very well without complication.
