I am currently working locums in a surgery center. I have not been here long and as an outsider, I try not to make too many waves when I see things being done a little differently. It seems just about every place has something or another done a little differently...
One of the common practices at the current facility is the preop treatment of hypoglycemia detected by routine blood sugar check in diabetics. They give 1/2 to 1 pack of sugar sublingually.
Do you consider this an acceptable practice?
