I have a redo CABG coming up on Monday and the only allergy listed for this patient is Ether (with an anaphylactic reaction). I have looked through the books, internet sources, and databases, but cannot find anything about ether allergies. I am in my heart rotation, and this will be my third CABG. For each of the cases we have used Isoflurane as part of our anesthetic plan. I don't think I currently have access to what anesthetic was used during prior surgeries, so I cannot look to see what was used before. The Pre-evaluation has been completed, but there is no mention of the ether allergy. Does anybody know if it is safe to use volatile anesthetics on this patient?

Thanks!
