So Im in a critical access hospital, doing a routine C-Section for FTP in the middle of the night (induced/post dates) G1 P0 ASA 2 (smoker) just top loading the CLE for surgical needs..you know.... routine stuff. ANywho - its important to note that starting h/h is a tad on the lower side 8/27 - but nothing alarming and shes 5' 4" 260 lbs. Kid is out and the OB says - "Ummmm ok" and says to the pt ..."I might have to take your uterus out". While removing the placenta, he inverts the uterus since it will not separate and it starts to balloon slowly and steadily (just like a cartoon bike tire) - so, per OB, we're lookin at an accreta. The OB is not credentialed to do an emergency hyst so has to call a general surgeon in (15 minutes away) while the tire gets bigger and bigger...

Oh what to do - what to do...

get a cup of coffee & lets talk about this... questions?
