Any suggestions for a still learning SRNA on how to find midline on some of the larger patients?

I usually try and have the patient get in the best posture. Shoulders down, chin to chest, angry cat etc.. then i locate the hips and search for L4/L5 (tuffiers line. Sometimes if i don't feel any thing great i'll locate C7 and run my finger down the spinous processes. I then try to locate the spinous process of l2/3/4/5 and place my thumb right on it as i localize and attempt to "feel around".

I've seen some people use middle and index finer to palpate transverse process as they localize.

Any other tips? Epidurals and spinals are so easy once I'm midline its just 25% of the time i feel like I'm not lol.
