I'm looking for a break down in any differences between these states' scopes of practice for nurse anesthetists. I find it difficult and nauseating to navigate the legalese of the state websites which seem to be vague at best. Can anyone practicing in these states give a synopsis of any restrictions imposed above and beyond that which is implied by certification? (ie supervision, limitations in where you put needles in people, etc?)

I ask as a SRNA hopeful who is in talks with various program directors about clinical goals of their programs, more specifically, skills honed as a student with live patients. I would like to discuss with these directors any differences in their program training and the state's scope (ie program training at a level beneath the scope of practice).

Thank you,

Matt
