When i first decided to pursue CRNA. I thought obtaining an ICU position would be do able, as a new nurse. I chose an associates program because i wanted to start working ASAP, in order to rack up much needed ICU experience. I've achieved my RN license and i plan to finish my BSN in 2 years, but with the current job market in my area (NY). Obtaining ANY nursing job in a hospital is a privilege. ICU at this point seems unrealistic.

When i first researched anesthesia i never thought i would have to do several years of non ICU nursing before i even attempted to start earning my needed ICU experience. This is a little disheartening
