58 More Nursing Students Sue Mountain State Univ Over Accreditation
Beckley, West Virginia – As Mountain State University drifts towards oblivion after the Higher Learning Commission withdrew its accreditation last month, the lawsuits against it are piling up. Following the example of a number of other students, 58 more former nursing students in MSU’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program have filed suit against the university and university officials.From the WV Record:
The plaintiffs claim when they were admitted to the program, they were informed that the program was accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission and West Virginia Board of Examiners for Registered Professional Nurses, but later discovered the nursing program did not have full accreditation status.
In 2008, the NLNAC voted to place nursing program at MSU on warning and scheduled the next evaluation visit for spring 2010, according to the suits.
