Hello,
I start my anesthesia program in August, and have decided to purchase an iPad 3 and use eBooks instead of paper copies. 12/14 required text books so far are available on Kindle. I am choosing the digital route for practicality's sake. Some of my reasons:
-Search function vs. index
-Carry around 1 device instead of 14 textbooks when studying.
-Comfort of holding a handheld tablet instead of giant textbooks.
-Internet search capabilities.
I have not yet bought a tablet. I have read many reviews on pros/cons and comparisons between apple and android based units. I have decided that he iPad is the best fit for me.
Now my goals are to be able to use Kindle for my primary reader. Within Kindle you can use a digital highlighter, then go back and review your highlighted items for study or what-not. I found that to be one the most attractive features of this e-reader.
For those who went digital- can you offer any suggestions or tips on any apps that can enhance the studying experience on an iPAD? For example, are there any programs that can pull highlighted portions of text and convert them into "flash cards" or something similar? Are there any e-readers out there that have superior accessibility than the Kindle app? What has worked best for you when studying from a tablet?
Thank you for any suggestions and advice you can offer.
-Josh
