    Question Pay: RN v. CRNA

I wonder if there is something that I've been missing.

I have read multiple references regarding:

    1) Major pay increases as well as higher standards of living as a CRNA v. RN

    2) Being stuck with CRNA loans on an RN salary (for those that do not make it through CRNA school) being very difficult.

In the Bay Area, RN's are making around $150k/year working 3 days a week w/o overtime (confirmed). With moderate overtime it is not uncommon for RNs to earn $200k+ out here. In comparison to Gasworks - I see California CRNAs topping out at $200k/year. A $50k difference is substantial - but not dramatic considering $200k won't buy you significantly more than $150k once tax is factored in.

Do the numbers on Gaswork represent a true picture of average CRNA income?

Also, I hear references in regards to "the golden days of working as a CRNA being over" - What did the golden days look like?
