Housing during school

I'll be starting school in July and have been considering buying a fifth wheel for housing. Has anyone else considered/done this? Anybody have any thoughts/tips regarding this?

I actually considered the same thing for undergrad, but then I looked at prices to set the 5th wheel (campgrounds, etc.) and it came out to be pretty close to renting. Granted you'll have something to sell/travel in after school if you go the 5th wheel route, but I don't know that I could live 3 years in a 5th wheel. Just my opinion.

Oh btw, very fitting that we're both from Alabama lol

Must be an Alabama thing since my sister lived in a fifth wheel for 3 years in PT school and I'm about to do the same. It may not be much cheaper than renting, but you'll be very thankful when you have that clinical that's 2 hours from the school. Heck some of ours were in another state.

Two friends did this while in school. Search ebay for deals. The campgrounds here included internet and electric, so the only out of pocket additionals were the propane and food. And as Dave said, they took their campers with them when away rotations came up. Plus a new camper is often a lot nicer than any student housing option!
