I am a junior nursing student in a BSN program. I have an interest in potential working towards a CRNA after getting work experience as a RN. I would like to know what areas in nursing are good for experience as a RN before becoming a CRNA.

Here is a website from the AANA (American Association of Nurse Anesthetists) that will have some information to answer many of your questions. I also suggest browsing through the countless threads in this section as the topic has been discussed countless times.
Good luck!

By far according to most schools pre-reqs: some sort of adult ICU/critical care, a good two years of. Then add any extra stuff like CCRN, advanced chemistry classes or whatever else the individual school suggests.

Success in life is the result of good judgment. Good judgment is usually the result of experience. Experience is usually the result of bad judgment.

Agree with all of the above. Find a busy, high acuity ICU if you can. Immerse yourself in all the nastiness and catastrophes that you can. Learn how to be under the gun and how to handle pressure. Get your OCHEM and physics knocked out in the mean time. Many schools want that these days. Now for the hardest part - patience. You cannot rush your experience. You may even find yourself going a different direction 2-3 years from now. Good luck!
