Texas Wesleyan entering c/o 2012

Just wanted to start a forum to get to know those accepted to wesleyan to start this coming fall. Just got my letter today and super excited.

A word of advice from an SRNA in the class 1 year ahead of you; if you or someone else has not already started a private Facebook group for the class, I would certainly recommend it. More than 90% of our class is on our group and it has been a very useful tool for giving everyone a common place to ask and answer questions, exchange ideas etc. Good luck, I know you cant wait to get started!

Yep, I made a private Facebook page for our class, and it's great. Good for keeping everyone on the same page, asking questions, complaining, etc. Just make sure it's PRIVATE! Don't want Big Brother to be in on the conversation...

And many nurses...When I was an RN, several nurses got fired at the hospital I worked for posting stupid things on Facebook while they were at work. One girl got canned for posting something like "sometimes I hate my job" but had work info on her FB page...so yeah, one cannot be too careful.

I wouldn't trust any of those "friends" on there. Somehow that assistant director seemed to know a lot about what's posted. Early November "I see x student has finished their last clinical shift. You guys are aware that you're required to be in clinical until the very last day right?"

I would also advise against you being in any facebook group. It will NOT be private. Trust me on this. I know from first hand of a bad situation involving supposedly private things being posted on a "school" FB page. Any information (which is mainly where everyone is going out drinking that night) you can get from word of mouth and there will be no evidence of it all over the internet.

I think a little common sense goes a long way on Facebook. Just assume that anything you do anywhere on the internet, be it on Facebook, here, or anywhere else for that matter is never truly "private", all it takes is a screen shot. At TWU specifically, it has been so helpful because so many of us are spread out all over the country and word of mouth just isn't gonna get it sometimes. But yeah, I've certainly seen peoples comments/actions come back to bite them....like I said, common sense.
