I have been doing a lot of thinking these past weeks about joining the navy. I haven't the first clue about it and haven't even talked to a recruiter. I have been an ICU nurse for a 1 yr in a medical, surgical, neuro and coronary ICU level 1, and yes we have all of those combined lol. My ultimate goal will be CRNA school, but I want more experience, I am getting ready to obtained my CCRN and take the GRE, but I'm also continuing education taking organic chem, physics and such; what I want to know from those that were navy nurses is what life was like. I have a wife who is also a nurse, no kid yet but currently working on that. I am curious how deployment worked what the chances were we would be put together if deployed, would navy nursing be mostly working on base, just anything you can give me. my biggest concern would be family life and how that would be. my wife works nights and I work days although we get the luxury of getting most of the same days scheduled we probably see each other 4x a week, we have no issues with that. If anyone can shed some light that would be great. Also comment how it was once you had kids.. thanks
