My first call (ever) was for a patient with achondroplasia, late stage liver disease, with a potassium level of 6.4, all labs (including coags) are abnormal, request for intubation for airway protection. I arrive to the room I find an extremely weak, barely able to open her eyes, jaundiced patient, with cracked bleeding lips-maybe 45 kg, small mouth, even smaller nose, poor dentition rom what I could see (would not open mouth for airway assessment). Sats 98 RA, VSS. How would you progress?
