This has happened to me a few times, but not recently (until today). Gastric bypass, well-positioned, smooth induction for RSI. Jaw is a little tight but it subluxates with some effort - grade I view with cricoid pressure. 7.0 tube just will not pass. I try rotating it to both sides with no success. Pull it out and put a little more bend on the stylette and try getting a little lift on it. After all of 20 seconds the MDA gives me the boot (patient hasn't even started desatting yet) and has the CRNA step in, who slips a much smaller tube in with no problem. Aside from down-sizing the tube, which is what I've done in similar situations previously, are there any tips for getting the tube through when it just doesn't want to pass?
