Good advice. Read your department's policy and procedure manual. Take notes on what 'supervision' is required and who it applies to. Don't just take someone's word about how a certain practice actually occurs, especially if it conflicts with your written policy. Lastly, identify yourself as a student registered nurse anesthetist (or whatever your program requires). Your patient deserves to know who is providing their anesthesia care, even if you are uncomfortable identifying yourself as a student.
