I had the opportunity to go to Haiti and help out with medical relief. I spent a week there and have been home for two weeks now. As some of you may remember I was trying to decide a while back if I should leave the ICU, after having been there for 2 years and spend some time working in the ER at the level 1 where I work. Well, my experiences in Haiti were really amazing in every possible way and gave me an opportunity to step outside my day to day and figure out what's really important to me right now. I decided to go to the ER and put off CRNA school for a bit. I have other things that are more important to me right now and want to do what feels right.
If any of you get a chance to go to Haiti, and help, do it!
