"The Economic Benefits of More Fully Utilizing Advanced Practice Registered Nurses in the Provision of Health Care in Texas: An Analysis of Local and Statewide Effects on Business Activity"
Highlights:
A number of empirical studies support the conclusion that greater utilization of APRNs can both improve patient outcomes and reduce overall healthcare costs.
When APRNs are utilized within the systems of healthcare provision more efficiently, the economic benefits to the state are substantial. The Perryman Group estimates the total current impact of enhanced efficiency includes $16.1B in total expenditures and $8B in output (gross product) EACH YEAR as well as 97,205 permanent jobs in Texas.
The economic activity also leads to additional tax receipts; The Perryman Group estimates these effects include $483.9M to the State and $233.2M to the local government entities EACH YEAR.
BY 2020
The economic benefits of more efficient use of APRNs will grow to an estimated annual impact for TX of $24B in total expenditures adn $12B in output as well as 122,735 permanent jobs.
