Florida is one of 2 states in the entire country which does not allow Nurse Practitioners to prescribe scheduled substances. They state that no NP is qualified to do so. Interestingly enough Florida, the state where only PHYSICIANS can prescribe narcotics, is also prescribing 10X more oxycodone than providers in every other state in the country combined. Talk about stupid...
