Right next to the day I got married and the births of my children, today has been one of the most thrilling days of my life.
My interview was only yesterday, and during the program orientation, the director stated that applicants would be notified of acceptance by Christmas. I had some inside information that top applicants are notified almost immediately, but I never thought that would be me.
Well, this morning while I was working, in walks the NA program director, who incidentally has never set foot in my unit to my knowledge, to hand deliver my acceptance letter. I felt like Ed McMahon just handed me a million dollar check!!! I don't think my feet touched the floor the rest of the day :laugh2:
Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone for the priceless advice I've received here, and extend special thanks to Kevin and Yoga for all of their encouragment and guidance.
I'm slated to start in August '07 - Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center!!!!

Congrats!! I still remember the feeling like it was yesterday. Yes, it was like winning the lotto or something. I was a very exciting day. Almost surreal in a sense. Congrats again, you'll do great.

I'm so happy for you!!!! Good news for going into the holiday season. When does your program start? Front-loaded or integrated? Do you have to move before you start school? (doesn't sound like it if the program director delivered the acceptance letter IN PERSON, woo hoo!!!)

Thankfully, I don't have to move and I can now cancel my other interview. This was my first choice and I could't be happier.
I'll start in August. They say the program is integrated, but it really appears to be front-loaded from what I've been told.
Debbie - I know you've been waiting for your big news too! I hope you get an early Christmas present as well!

Congrats!!! I know you are excited and thrilled! What an honor to have Dr Reiker hand deliver your letter while you were working in the unit! I am nervously waiting to find out my fate! I interviewed there on Nov 14th. I have butterflies in my stomach just thinking about it, I was an alternate for the program last year. Anyways, congratulations and best wishes!!!

You are very lucky to get your first choice. I have been accepted to a couple programs, neither my first choice and now I have to decide which program. Good Luck and keep us posted.
