View Full Version : In need of advice with job prospects

I am a junior SRNA, currently planning on visiting a group/facility in a different town :flybye: about a job opportunity. I was wondering if there is any advice people may give about the initial and later stages of trying to negotiate, or what I should expect. There currently isn't an offer on the table, but I would assume that with my visit their will be. One of the 'ologists from the group came to meet with our class and told me a general idea about what they had offered to their most recent hires, but in the same breath said everything is negotiable. (Which by the way having only business experience as a staff nurse I fear never really prepares one for contract negotiation). Sorry about rambling, but any advice would be helpful.
The first rule of negotiations is to gather all the facts you can. You made a good first step on posting here to get some ideas. I would spend a lot of time on <gaswork.com> looking at the positions available in that particular geographic area and what salary and benefit packages they offer. When you visit the hospital, ask to speak to some CRNAs and try to read their expressions about the job.

amen to talking with the other CRNA's in the group, you will be able to generate funds coming into the group just as the other crna's so make sure you ask for the same salary, benefits or at least in the same ballpark numbers. dont screw yourself.
