Hey All!!
http://www.diversitycrna.org/
This website and organization was developed by a good friend of mine, Wallena M. Gould, CRNA. She is awesome as I believe her mentorship organization/program is as well!
Here is the "about" statement!
The Diversity in Nurse Anesthesia Mentorship Program mission is to provide planned activities to increase minority representation in nurse anesthesia programs, faculty positions and to become active participants in the state and national nurse anesthesia associations.
We (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists) fulfill our mission by providing annual information sessions/luncheon programs, anesthesia airway workshops, sponsorships for minority nurse anesthesia students to the Annual AANA Conference, participating in area high school career day, visit Historically Black Colleges and Universities and provide annual graduating celebratory dinner for minority students completing the nurse anesthesia programs.
The all volunteer organization participants are CRNAs, minority nurse anesthesia students, ICU nurses, nursing school students and high school students. The importance of mentorship is our core value and a diverse group of advance practice nurses as Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is our immediate goal.
