What is the battle with all nurses. I have never really gone there for any reason. Are they competing with this site?

hehe

They banned me long ago when i started this site. Since I pay for it myself (and make no money from it) I didnt think it was wrong to post the link. They didnt feel the need to talk to me about it and banned me immediately without a word.

Since then many have been banned from there and they made a filter so that this website, either in a PM or a post, gets ***** out like a swear word. Then they decided to moderate every post thats made in the anesthesia section and have some moron moderate it (the old mod is here now, great guy).

So thats the backstory about a year ago orso.

So you got banned for making a resource other than All nurses for anesthesia students . How queer is that. It is a public forum. So I suppose you should ban Army gas for posting all of his resources that he is providing for us to make us better students and practioners. Well I think this site is doing quite well and has been a great resource. Keep it up.

hehehe

Well, turns out that AllNazi's isnt a "public" forum. I was informed after i emailed the owner (one Brian) that it was his own site and he reserved the right to an me forever since i was "competing" against him for his "customers".

Brian, a former RN, now makes his living have advertising on his site (including within threads) as well as charging people for a "premium" membership (i have that function to its call "being an SRNA or CRNA"). He felt i was "advertising" and "competing" with him.

I pay for this site directly out of my sallie mae filled pockets :P I have been offered advertisement $$ and since turned it down as i believe when money gets involved with these things they are ruined (ala all nazis).

unreal eh?

what is your bandwidth costs? Are they really high? I would hope not. That is where the sponsors or ads come in handy. I understand your wanting to keep it free of ads. It is nice. Site runs smooth because of it.

no worries :)

I have friends who run large websites and they host this for me, i toss em some money every month but its nothing i cannot handle. Id much rather pay it than have some annoying ad pop up. It would put me over the edge and I think that sortof thing is tacky.

I got into Case and will be going in August of '08. There are a couple of other CCF people that I know that will be attending. Feel free to shoot me an PM.

I have been slightly confused about the difference between Case's CRNA program and the CCF program. Is it the same program or are they two separate programs? Are all of the clinical rotations at CCF? Is(Are) the program(s) mainly filled with CCF RNs? Just asking out of curiosity. Thanks for your time!

Cleveland Clinic started a hospital based CRNA program in the late 60's that graduated all of it own certificate based CRNAs. Cleveland Clinic then affiliated with Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing at Case Western in the late 80's in order to be able to grant MSNs. I believe that Case had it's own CRNA program at the time that was closer affiliated with University Hospital. Today, although they are affiliated w/ all the same professors/classes - the Case program and the Case/CFF program remain semi-separate entities. We still get an anesthesia certificate from CCF and an MSN from Case. All of the CCFs clinical rotations are at CCF main campus or one of the health system hospitals. The Case only program do their clinicals at University Hospital and Summa Health System.

Thanks for the info! It's surprising that Case SRNAs have clinicals at Summa, and Akron SRNAs have clinicals at Metro (At least, I've never met any Case SRNAs at Metro). Good luck with school!

Hey Burnt,

My wife is at Case now. She will be graduating in DEC. Her clinical site is at UH. I have several friends that I worked with at CCF starting in your class. Where is your clinical site??? Did you get your first choice??

Hey, I chose Cleveland Clinic as my first choice - I haven't heard much back yet, but i'm hoping I get it. The 2.5 year commitment is fine for a shot at getting to work at one of the best hospitals in the US.

So when applying for the program at Case, are you applying to 2 different programs: 1 at CCF, 1 at UH? I saw there were 2 directors for the CRNA program at Case, so are there also 2 different CRNA classes? Or, are there 2 applications? Thanks.

It's 2 separate programs that have merged into 1 for the didactic portion. Basically, you choose where you want to do clinicals, either CCF under their director or the university hospitals under their director. You are asked to chose a clinical site, but ultimately it's up to the directors to decide which clinical to place you in. As far as I know thats the basic distinction. I could be wrong though.
