I have long been a lurker on this forum reading every possible post I can. I find this forum much nicer, more informative and professional than AN.com. I am very pleased to announce that about two weeks ago I received a call from the program director letting me know that I had been accepted to KU's program. I start around May. Thanks to all who have helped. For any other lurkers out there here were my stats:

High School 1998
BS Business Administration 2002
Accelerated BSN program at Mizzou 2006
Precepted in the SICU at (Level I)
Took Staff Nurse position in SICU upon graduating
Started charging occasionally at 8 months
Float to other ICUs
On several committees in the unit
Member of ANA and AACN
Shadowed a couple of CRNAs at KU before interviewing
CCRN 2 days before interviewing
11 months experience when I applied and will have 1 year 9 months when I start the program.

I also took classes such as Physics, Calculus, Chem I, Chem II, Organic Chem and Botany

My letter of references were from my unit manager, nursing instructor and a CRNA.

Of course it was!!!......No, I was pre-Pharmacy before finding out about NA. A pharmacist is the one who actually pointed me toward being a CRNA. Once I did the research and shadowed, there was no question it was my calling.

Congratulations! This is the program I'll be applying to, many years from now (hopefully 2011). Post as often as you can once school starts, I would love to hear your experiences!

Are you from Kansas?

And how do you feel about being a Jayhawker after graduating from Mizzou? Don't wear your yellow and black the first day of class!

No, I am from Missouri. I have no problem being a Jayhawker....I really didn't care what I was; I just wanted in to their program! It is funny you say something about colors. I wore a gold tie with some black accents to the interview (which was before the big game) and the interviewers picked right up on it an proved to be an interesting point of discussion.

Wow, you're brave! ha I'm not much of a KU fan anyway, we're wildcats here at our house.

Good luck with school! You'll be long graduated by the time I apply.

Hello - I too have been reading anything and everything - soaking it all in but this is my first post. KU and Newman have both given me interviews, my interview for KU is Jan 3rd. I would greatly appreciate any advice you could give about the process and questions asked to prepare. Although KU is a 36month program and Newman a two year program, KU is my top choice and I desperately want acceptance.

Thank you in advance.
