Critical Concepts: Agonal Gasps (this is bolded in red)

"Remember that agonal gasps are not adequate breathing."

Do they mean that gasping for air is not the same as regular breathing? Are any other nerds laughing at this?

It was in the BLS for Healthcare Providers I just took too. There were some other gems as well.

This is just another example of the dumbing down the AHA is providing for the medical community. They don't want anyone to feel bad that they don't have a clue as to whats going on during a cardiac arrest so they just simplify everything and tell you to call the expert. This would be fine if everyone had experts in their pocket. The reality is they're just losing face and many specialties are turning to the ACEP to develop a true resucitation course. At the rate they're going the AHA won't have much on the red cross.
