Do any programs accept students that are not RN's but have a BA in a different field (i.e. pysch). I know it is a demanding field and an RN and ICU experience is deemed necessary. I was just wondering. I'm getting older and was interested in this field, and wanted to know if anyone school would take someone who isn't an RN.

Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - the title says it all.....
We are all RNs. This is an advanced practice nursing profession and as such requires that one be an RN.
The RN part is required, zuke. However, some programs (maybe 10%) will accept you if you are an RN (non-BSN) but have a bachelor's degree in another field.

Or you could go to school to become an Anesthesia Assistant instead. It would take about the same amount of time. You would not be able to practice independently in any setting. You would likely make about the same money as a CRNA, but your geographical practice options would be greatly limited.
