Hello SRNA's/CRNA's,

What are considered the "Core Science Courses" that are really important and that the admissions board looks at, aside from overall GPA?

I'm thinking Chem 1, Chem 2, Microbiology...also Statistics (as this is a requirement)...?
I'm thinking those are the basic ones...and then if you add in extra classes such as organic chem? Are there other classes they really want to see good grades in ??

Help from some SRNA's! Thanks guys!

All science courses will be important as many will calculate your overall science GPA. Now what they consider to be science will vary, but it will definitely include all math, anything inlcuding biology in the name, any higher level courses like genetics, anatomy, physiology, anything with chemistry in the name, physics, etc

All science classes are important but each school has ones it requires - def. go to the websites, download program brochures to make sure you have the basics. Usually A&P 1 and 2, one semester of gen chem, one semester of organic chem and/or biochem, microbiology, pharmacology and physics. I've heard some programs require statistics too. I also emailed the program directors to double check what goes into the science GPA, some only used the 'required' courses to calculate while others used extra classes like calc, genetics. Good luck!
