View Full Version : Frustrated with Allnurses

I don't get it. I post in various sections of allnurses.com all the time. I've tried before to post to the CRNA board, but none of my posts have ever been displayed.
Just tried to reply to a post - three times. The third time I got a message that my post would not be visible until it is approved by a moderator.
WTF? I've never done or said anything on that board to offend anybody...do they moderate EVERY post on the CRNA board?

Hey
Yes they do moderate every post and the also edit out any mention of this website. The owner (brian) is trying to preserve his cash cow by including advertising within threads and avoiding anyone from the CRNA forum from finding out about this site.
Its sad. You can read about it all HERE (http://www.nurse-anesthesia.org/showthread.php?t=539)

But they don't edit every post on every other board, just the CRNA board...why? And, even if they do moderate...I've never had any of my posts on the CRNA board ever show up. Weird.
I've never, ever mentioned anything about this website on there, do they moderate every single poster or just those who are registered here?
And yes, the in-thread advertising is beyond annoying.
Cathy,
You will not find many of us here who have good things to say about all-nurses. They represent everything I don't like about nursing--backbiting, jealousy, selective censoring and a few more other negatives.
I personally got turned off after I took on an RN who was very arrogant and uninformed about the use of local prior to starting an IV. When I challenged her to explain her "allergy" to lidocaine, because she would have been very rare, she became hostile. By the way a number of other anesthesia people, who are now here, like RN29306 also challenged her. What I got in return was not an academic discussion, but an email from the moderator that I was being too hostile.
After that and lots of other similar incidents, I resigned from that board. In my opinion, they are unprofessional and most of the posts are of no value to us in anesthesia. The ONLY good thing about it is, Mike saw the need to have a good website and set up this one. As a result, we have made new friendships and have had the opportunity to learn from each other.
This is where the good people are.

Hey Cathy
They actually moderate every single post in the CRNA and SRNA forum. If you were to paste this website link there it comes up like this www.*****-**********.***. They have filtered it out.
Really a sad reflection on nursing.

Oh no! I'm the one who started the thread about using lidocaine prior to IV starts!! I'm the one who got everybody banned....aahhhh!!! So.....does this mean that I recieve some sort of special status for causing the social upheaval that eventually resulted in nurse-anesthesia.org???? If so, I think I would like to be referred to "Your highness" or "Your holiness", or something along those lines.....I won't be picky....
hahahaha!!! :notworthy:
