ok so i'll admit i went and saw this yesterday. i ignored the scary looking movie promo poster, and went with the reviews. i thought it was a very good thought provoking movie, albeit not a movie for everyone. it's getting quite a bit of heat from the public because of the racial, sexual, nudity, and violence components of the story.
i'm def going to buy the soundtrack, samuel jackson doing some blues. i found it interesting that christina ricci wore the actual 40 lb chain during shooting of the movie. justin timberlake surprised me in his acting, also interesting that he chose this indie flick to sign up for.
anybody else see it?

hmm

Ive basically written off Mr Jackson just b/c he did a movie (which i havent/wont see) called snakes on a plane.

As a general rule, I am going to avoid a movie that Justin Timberlake is is :P

now as for justin timberlake, that's just because you're a guy.
what about christina running around half naked during the whole movie?

I am interested in seeing it, but it'll have to wait for spring break.

If you like Black Snake Moan, you should check out Craig Brewer's other mainstream movie, Hustle and Flow. You may or may not like it, but being a Memphis boy, it was pretty cool. The soundtrack is very good as well. I'm a closet JT fan as well, so I'll probably check this movie out. You gotta admit, the boy can sing, and he's from Memphis, so I guess I don't mind supporting him. Sorry Mike.

Dude, "Snakes on a Plane" is a good movie. It ranks right up there with "Zoolander" and comes close to "Dude, Where's My Car?" - I'm really surprised at you.

My boys and I watch stupid comedies together - the more inane, the better. "Dude, Where's My car?" is pretty much the gold standard by which we measure all the other comedies. We've also recently enjoyed "Dodgeball" and "Anchorman" and any movie starring Jackie Chan.

And I think JT participated in the infamous "Dick in a Box" skit on SNL, so clearly, he can act. You're missing the boat, man.

Well, i am a zoolander, dodgeball & anchorman fan. I have to say "Dick in a box" is hilarious.

Maybe he can act, who knows. I just generally dislike it when singers become actors :P

Agree with Mike....I don't get JT either. But then again, he's sold millions of records and I've sold 0 so what do I know; He's also bedded Cameron Diaz and Britney Spears.....well guess that one cancels itself out:pound: Although there's still the schoolgirl outfit and..........
