Hey everyone,

I'm looking for a (quick) reference text for cardiac anesthesia as well as one for regional/pain management.. As far as CV, I was thinking either Kaplan's Essentials or Hensley's Practical Approach. Regional - not sure. Any recommendations? Just a first year student here (5 mos. in clinical so far), just getting my feet wet- I have a rotation in May where hopefully I'll get more opportunity for CV, central lines, and regional and I want to be prepared! Thanks in advance!!

Try Atlas of Regional Anesthesia by David L. Brown. Great book with lots of excellent illustrations of the anatomy - it's about $140 on Amazon - not cheap, but well worth it, IMHO.

You can download the Military Advanced Regional Anesthesia and Analgesia for free off the internet. It is copyrighted or I would post it under the Download section on this website.

Hey

It is already in the downloads section. It is free for distribution since it was paid for with tax payers money ;)

I got the NYSORA Textbook of Regional Anesthesia from an Amazon.com independent retailer for $70, way cheaper than the Brown book but used the Military regional anesthesia files in clinicals more often. You can also access the NYSORA website for free.
